Improved Stock & Non-Stock Ordering

Clearer deliveries. More control. Better visibility.

We’ve made an important improvement to how orders containing stock and non-stock items are processed and delivered.

The aim is simple: to give you greater clarity, better control, and clearer delivery expectations when placing an order.

What’s changed?

Previously, if an order contained a mix of stock and non-stock items, everything was treated as one delivery. That sometimes-meant stock items were delayed while waiting for non-stock items to arrive.

Going forward, you’ll now have clear delivery choices at checkout, so you can decide how and when your order arrives.

Your delivery options (at checkout stage)

If your basket contains both stock and non-stock items, you’ll be able to choose one of the following:

Option 1: Single delivery

  • All items are delivered together
  • The delivery date is based on the longest lead-time item

👉 Where possible, we encourage customers to choose a single delivery.
This helps reduce the number of deliveries, cut CO₂ emissions, minimise environmental impact — and, where applicable, means only one carriage charge applies.

Option 2: Split delivery

  • Stock items are delivered within the agreed SLA
  • Non-stock items follow once available
  • Best if you need stock items urgently

Orders made up entirely of stock items

Orders made up entirely of stock items are unaffected.

  • You will not see the delivery choice options
  • Stock-only orders will continue to be delivered in line with the agreed SLA, as normal

This update gives you clearer ordering, better visibility, and more control over deliveries — while also helping reduce unnecessary shipments where possible.
